Trinacria was the name given to Sicily by the Greeks in the 3rd century B.C., because of the island’s triangular shape: three promontories, three points... and now three friends, three musicians and three types of traditional instruments from Southern Italy.
United by our common musical experience, as founders of the band "TAMMORRA", we have performed at numerous festivals and theatres over the last fifteen years and have been filled with the energy of always-generous audiences, urging us to seek new paths. Our repertoire is made of original compositions inspired by our Sicilian culture, to which we pay tribute with our rendering of some traditional songs. We have chosen to highlight the poetical aspect of the Sicilian dialect by emphasizing the use of metaphors while facing arguments that are still prevalent today.

Trinacria est le nom antique de la Sicile, donné par les Grecs au IIIème siècle av. J.C. pour sa forme triangulaire: trois promontoires, trois poin- tes... trois amis, trois musiciens, trois types d’instruments traditionnels du sud de l’Italie.
Unis par la même expérience musicale depuis plus de quinze ans, en tant que membres fondateurs du groupe "TAMMORRA", nous avons foulé les scènes de nombreux festivals et théâtres et avons été remplis de l’énergie d’un public toujours généreux qui nous a poussés à parcourir de nouvelles routes.
Le répertoire est constitué de compositions originales inspirées de notre culture sicilienne, à laquelle nous rendons hommage en reprenant aussi quelques chansons traditionnelles ré-élaborées. Dans les textes en dialecte, nous avons voulu faire ressortir l’aspect poétique de cette langue, emphatisant l’utilisation de la métaphore et affrontant des arguments toujours actuels.

Trinacria war der Name Siziliens in der Antike, den die Griechen der Insel im 3. Jahrhundert vor Christus wegen ihrer Dreiecksform gaben: drei Kaps, drei Punkte… drei Freunde, drei Musiker, drei Gattungen traditioneller süditalienischer Instrumente.
Verbunden durch die selben musikalischen Erfahrungen, in deren Mittelpunkt die Band TAMMORRA stand, haben wir mehr als fünfzehn Jahre lang auf unzähligen Festivals, Theatern und Bühnen gespielt - getragen von der Energie unseres warmherzigen Publikums, das uns inspirierte, neue Wege zu suchen und zu finden.
Unser Repertoire besteht aus Eigenkompositionen, die von unserer sizilianischen Kultur inspiriert sind, in die wir aber auch traditionelle Melodien und Lieder einfließen lassen.
In unseren Texten heben wir den poetischen Aspekt des Sizilianischen hervor, der sich vor allem in Metaphern niederschlägt, entgegen der noch immer aktuellen Argumentation.

Trinacria è l’antico nome della Sicilia, dato dai greci nel III° secolo a.C. per la sua forma triangolare: tre promontori, tre punte... tre amici, tre musicisti, tre tipi di strumenti tradizionali del sud d’Italia.
Accomunati dalla stessa esperienza musicale da oltre quindici anni, in quanto nucleo storico dei "TAMMORRA", abbiamo calcato numerosi palchi di festival e teatri, caricati dall’energia di un pubblico sempre generoso che ci ha stimolato a percorrere nuove strade.
Il repertorio è costituito da composizioni originali ispirate dalla nostra cultura siciliana, alla quale rendiamo omaggio riproponendo anche canzoni tradizionali rielaborate.
Nei testi in siciliano diamo risalto all’aspetto poetico della lingua dialettale, enfatizzando l’uso della metafora e affrontando argomenti sempre attuali.
